Acura TLX

By Josh Barker
The Acura TLX is a concept from Honda that came out earlier this month. The TLX is to replace the current TL and TSX models. The only problem, is the TSX wagon. With the main TSX model, which is a sedan being consolidated, Acura, and the entire Honda company, will be without a wagon. “Your parents appreciate them, auto journalists love them and nobody buys them.” says Chris Shunk of the Auto blog. He says crossovers are the main problem. “Who needs a station wagon when a crossover is just as roomy, not as efficient and generally more expensive?” According to Wikipedia, Acura’s MDX and RDX are crossovers. They are very popular especially among families. The former ZDX, which was more of a sedan than an SUV was also a crossover. Honda has 5 crossovers of its own making the company have 7. Car buyers still have the option of a wagon from automobile makers, Volvo and Volkswagan. The TLX is a great idea, but is it worth it to get rid of the TSX wagon? An easy option is to keep the TSX name, but only for the wagon and consolidate the sedan with the TL. I say, it’s not worth the loss. Go to www.acura.com for pictures.
